THE FALLEN ONES "NEPHILIM"

“Nephilim” is an important term to better understand the ancient astronauts theory. As we know the word “nephilim” was translated mistakenly as “giants” but we know from the historical evidences that there were no giants in any time period of the history. “Nephilim” actually means “fallen”. Since the Hebrew language is very difficult to translate because of the consonants, there were many different translations throughout the history.

The British Methodist theologian Adam Clarke was one of those who translated the word as “fallen”. He translated the “nephilim” in Genesis (There were giants in the earth) as - µylpn nephilim, from lpn naphal - "he fell."

He notes that “The Septuagint (translation of the Hebrew Bible and some related texts into Greek) translate the original word by gigantev, which literally signifies earth-born, and which we, following them, term giants, without having any reference to the meaning of the word, which we generally conceive to signify persons of enormous stature.”

But according to Clarke, the word makes a very just distinction between the sons of men and the sons of God. Clarke says in his comments that nephilim were the sons of God, who were born from above; children of the kingdom, because children of God.

Aquila's translation has been interpreted to mean either "the fallen ones" or "the ones falling".

The author Zecharia Sitchin associates the term “Nephilim” with the Anunnaki and he suggests that they were the extraterrestrials. According to him the Anunnaki were a certain group of Nephilim.

And again remember the Book of Enoch. There we read the stories of the fallen angels. Those who gave forbidden information to the humans and were punished by the God and condemned to live on Earth in a prison whose location isn’t known. Here we see the fallen angels as living beings coming from the sky to the Earth as those in Anunnaki story which means those who came down from the heavens. I always believe the sacred books were totally inspired from the Sumerian texts. We talked about the Genesis and the creation of man before. Later we will talk about the flood story. All the main stories regarding the human beings are derived from those ancient texts which make me to question the “originality or from whereabouts” of those sacred books. Since the origin is Sumerian texts there we come up with the question “Who were those fallen ones/fallen angles?” I believe they are the so called Anunnakis those who came on Earth for their own agenda but then had to create the man with genetic engineering. It might come as a science fiction but more plausible to believe than the idea that God created the Universe with trillion planets and stars for some kind of apes who are just able to think for the last a few thousands years and then sent books to explain how he created everything. If there is a God who has the ability to create such a wonderful Universe, he must be magnificent and believe me he wouldn't be in need of any of your prayers or love for him. Believing that God needs each day our prayers actually puts him/her in an inferior position.
